These pages have been created to provide information on Work
Health and Safety (WHS), including organizational structures
and Work Health and Safety Risk Management (WHSRM) procedures in the School of Aerospace, Mechanical
and Mechatronic Engineering (AMME).
All projects being undertaken within the School of AMME require a Project Risk Assessment (PRA) to be completed
by project participants. Completed forms are reviewed by the School's Risk Review Committee (RRC) to ensure that
the correct procedures have been followed in accordance with NSW legislation and University policies related to WHS.
Projects are not to be undertaken until an associated PRA has been completed and approved by the School's Risk Review
Committee.
The School of AMME has a number of sub workgroups responsible for various research groups and areas within the School.
Workgroup leaders are required to regularly meet with their staff and students to discuss WHS issues;
and submit a Quarterly report to AMME WHS management.
All staff and postgraduate students are required to undertake a general safety induction before receiving access to their
office space. If staff or students require access to laboratory or workshop areas, a separate area specific induction must also
be performed. It is the responsiblity of supervisors to ensure all required inductions are completed.
